Due to the sheer number of injuries and deaths associated with Patient Lifts across North America, Residential Wellness developed a Patient Lift Safety CD Rom in 2008. Then after a wide range of feedback, a new version (2.0) of this CD Rom (containing even more information) was released in the spring of 2009.
By learning the numerous "Lessons Learned" from a multitude of sources contained in this revised CD Rom, you can drastically reduce the potential for injuries (and subsequent costs) and deaths associated with Patient Lifts.

The employer had to pay out approximately $20,000.00 extra in wages alone to cover shifts while the injured worker was on light duties and going for regular Physiotherapy treatments for approximately 7 months.

Since 1981, (to 1997) Health Canada has received reports of 11 deaths and over 50 injuries related to the malfunction, failure or misuse of patient lifts in Canada. In the United States, there have been over 41 deaths and 443 injuries reported to the US Food and Drug Administration since 1985 (to 1997).
